Overview of National & Regional Economy

Alison Felix is assistant vice president and Denver Branch executive with the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. She serves as the Bank’s regional economist in the states of Colorado, Wyoming and northern New Mexico. 

Ms Felix will give an overview for the national and regional economy, along with specific indicators for Colorado and the United States. Key economic indicators include: monetary policy, employment, housing, inflation, GDP, energy, agriculture and banking.

Ms. Felix’s research interests fall primarily in the field of public finance with an emphasis on tax policy. Her current research focuses on local tax incentives and the incidence of state and national corporate taxes. Secondary research interests include state and local government finance, labor economics and the economics of education.

Ms. Felix has a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Michigan, an M.A. in economics from the University of Michigan and a B.A. in mathematics and economics from Kansas State University
