Happy Tuesday! We have a great set of speakers today at the Marriott, Joe Castillo and Sabrina Davies. Joe embarked on an amazing journey riding his horse from Laporte all the way to Washington DC to honor two of his friends he lost in Vietnam. Sabrina Davies is a reporter who will provide additional background on Joe's amazing accomplishment.
I want to thank everyone who was able to make it to the Fall Festival put on by Rotaract last Thursday. It was a great event! I have been very impressed with the Rotaract Club and really glad to see them working hard to raise funds for their projects as opposed to just relying upon the clubs in Ft Collins for support. The event had a great mix of Rotarians, students from CSU and families. The weather was perfect and a great way to celebrate fall!
Next week Kathe will be running the meeting as I will be out of town. Our speaker next week will be Robert Eccleston. Robert was a Captain in the Army Infantry but also a sculptor. He has completed many sculptors across the country honoring Military and First Responders. As we near Veterans Day, it is great to have two speakers that are Veterans who are willing to share their stories and experiences with us.
Our Alumni lunch will be the next Tuesday. If you haven't had a chance to reach out to alumni that you know please do so. We have several alumni confirmed already but the more the merrier of course! I want to thank Lisa for all of her work in coordinating the event and all of the members in our club who have reached our to former members.
Finally I wanted to let the club know that we have a new application for Membership from Brooke Jostad who happens to be the niece of Scott Woods. If you have any feedback please let me or anyone on the Board know. Speaking of the Board, we are meeting today after our meeting and all are welcome to join!
