Well, that day has come! Tomorrow will be the last meeting of the 2019-2020 Rotary year, so this will be the last Monday Morning Update of my term as your president.
Undoubtedly, this year has been more interesting and challenging than I would have ever expected! The pandemic has made it impossible to safely engage in face-to-face meetings and we have been forced to meet virtually via Zoom. This meeting format works well for some members and okay for some, but a portion of our membership has had no engagement for the past four months which has greatly changed their Rotary experience. So our challenge as Foothills Rotarians going forward will be to evolve and come up with new ways to engage our membership, provide a meaningful club experience and continue "Service Above Self."
There is no doubt in my mind that Foothills members will rise to this challenge! This is evidenced by the exciting project that the Sponsorship Committee is currently developing - potentially $80,000 for local COVID-19 relief!!
2020-2021 President Karen, the Foothills leadership team and the board of directors are going to need help from all of us to make the changes that will be required to keep Foothills Rotary relevant in a post-pandemic world - so roll up your sleeves, let's make it happen!
In closing, I want to thank all of you for your support during the past year - I so appreciated it!
Mike

Evening Group News
Our evening meetings are held every other Tuesday. Right now we're using Zoom to meet. It's a good way for members to stay in touch and keep up-to-date on what's happening in the club.
Most volunteer activities with the Donor Trail, Putnam School and MorningStar Assisted Living are on hold, however we are currently working to identify some volunteer projects members can participate in.
Let me know if you are interested in attending an evening Zoom meeting and I'll be glad to send you the Zoom link.
Stay well,
