Good Morning! It's hard to believe but the Duck Race is just around the corner! Thanks to everyone who helped on Friday. We are going to have another session on Thursday (August 28th) at 4 PM at Exodus Moving and Storage. The address is 4700 Marketplace Drive, Johnstown, CO. 80534. The Duck Race committee is requesting 30 volunteers that day so please feel free to reach out to friends and family to join us.
Last weeks presentation from Erica Bethel of Joy and Justice was very powerful. It really hit home the integration this organization has with others that we have supported, especially Crossroads and Project Self Sufficiency. It made me realize that it's equally important that those being impacted by domestic violence have an outlet for recreation and celebration. I'm so glad they are here in our community and look forward to finding ways to help in any way we can.
Tomorrow's speaker will compliment last week's speaker. It will be Lori Warren from Crossroads Safehouse. They have created the Larimer County Family Justice Center. This new center integrates multiple services under one roof for those impacted by domestic violence.
Please remember that there will be no meeting the Tuesday after Labor Day and the week after we will have an offsite meeting at ChildSafe. We will meet at 11:30 at their location which is 2500 E 1st St. Loveland, CO.
Also this week we are going to dedicate fines to buying supplies for the Acuna project. I'm really looking forward to this project for many reasons. I expect that this will be the start of something really special that will allow us to expand our reach of service and build strong bonds with clubs in another part of the country.

Hope Under One Roof: Larimer County Family Justice Center
Lori will be discussing a brief history of Crossroads Safehouse and share an exciting new project nearly 20 community agencies are undertaking to better serve victims of child abuse, domestic violence, sexual assault, stalking and trafficking. Since COVID, Crossroads has seen an alarming increase in high-risk cases of victimization, we are working to bring evidence based interventions proven to decrease deaths and increase positive outcomes for survivors and their families.
