Foothills Rotary Bulletin

Hello Foothills Rotarians,

It's hard to believe that we haven't been at the Marriott since the last Tuesday in August.  That being said there's been a lot going on with our Club.   The Duck Race was an amazing event!   I want to thank everyone that was involved for putting on an amazing event.   The weather was great and it was amazing to see so many non-profits participating.   I can't wait to see what this race will have in store for next year!

Our offsite last week was at ChildSafe was a great experience.  Thanks, Kathe, for putting this together and thanks Celeste for organizing the great box lunches from Jimmy John's!   ChildSafe is part of a campus where Boys and Girls Club and Teaching Tree are also.  It was great to see a facility that has multiple non-profits all under one roof.  Our own Allision Hines joined us as well for the tour which provided a great perspective of how each of the organizations works with each other.

Finally the service trip to Mexico was amazing.   The generosity of the Rotary Club in Acuña was beyond anything I could have expected.  Seeing the joy in the faces of the children getting backpacks was heartwarming.   We also got to learn a lot what it is like in a border town.  I can say that it was quite different from what you see on TV.

Tomorrow our presentation is from Colleen Meyer from A Little Help.  The focus of the organization is helping Northern Colorado's older population.  The week after our meeting will be at The Food Bank of Northern Colorado.   We are asking that members register for this event. Attached is a link to register:  Project day at Food Bank! | Rotary Club of Fort Collins (Foothills)

In other exciting news we have two applications for membership.  Kim Dale and Genesis Gordon have both applied for membership.  This will be the first reading for both of them.

Our Board Meeting will be tomorrow after the meeting and as always everyone is welcome to join us.  Look forward to seeing everyone tomorrow!
