What a great meeting last week at the Marriott!   It was great having our two new members who will be inducted next week in addition to two great additional prospective members who were checking out our club.  The energy we have in our meetings is contagious and it's been so fun being president for all of it!

Project day at Food Bank! | Rotary Club of Fort Collins (Foothills)   It will be a great event that will include lunch.   I have really been enjoying the offsites we have been able to do so far.  I like to view them as field trips for adults!   

 

Next Tuesday, David Riep from CSU will be speaking to our club.  David is a Professor of Art History at Colorado State and will be presenting on their collection of African Ceramics there.   CSU holds one of the largest collections of African Ceramics.  It's always amazing to know the great things that are going on at CSU.  I'm constantly surprised and amazed about what an amazing university we have in our backyard!

 

Finally I wanted to share some sad news.  I learned that former member Tom Smith passed away on Thursday.   I had a chance to know Tom from several things including Rotary and church.  He also was the realtor for Jennifer's office building.   If you know his wife Suzie or his children please send your condolences to his family.   I always enjoyed Tom and will miss him very much.  A celebration of life for Tom will be held on 9-26 at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church at 2:30.  Hopefully as many Rotarians can be there in attendance.  I unfortunately won't be able to attend.
