Believe it or not, the cliche of "Time flies when you're having fun!", is how I'm truly feeling right now. Yes it's been an interesting, and at times, challenging year, AND it is a year that I will cherish and remember with great fondness throughout my life.
The impact of the pandemic on our lives; the unrest of our nation due to unjust and tragic events (which I hope is bringing lasting dialogue and much-needed change); a divisive political environment--all these still resonate for many of us today and for years to come. However, more importantly, the human compassion and dedication to helping our community and world meet the needs of those whose lives were negatively impacted are the memories that will remain lasting and strongest for me.
I am privileged and honored to be a member of our Fort Collins Foothills Rotary Club and Rotary International. You have each demonstrated the tenets of the Four-Way Test and our value of "service above self" tirelessly over the past year and are a constant inspiration to me.
Thank you to each one of you for making this an amazing year and allowing me the privilege to serve in the role of President. I know there are many more inspirations and "acts of good" to come as we move forward together under Sid's leadership.
Again, I am grateful and humbled by your support over the past year.
Yours in Rotary,
Karen

Feeding Fort Collins Families = Improving Lives! Goal: $65,000
Our club has organized a joint Rotary Clubs of Fort Collins project to support a mobile food pantry to provide food to Fort Collins families in northeast Fort Collins. Heather Buoniconti from our club and Chief Development Officer for the Food Bank of Larimer County tells us, "We know that Poudre High School (PHS) is centered in one of the most racially disparate census tracts in Larimer County with 49% of Latin X individuals living below the poverty line as opposed to 16% of white residents.
We have already raised $28,000 toward our goal and the Rotary After Work Club featured this project in its Fort Collins port of its "Cruise Ship Fun-tacular" fundraiser and to date has raised $500. Kathe and Steve Haake kicked off this project with a generous $10,000 donation, which has been matched ($10,000) by our Board using expense savings from our budget. The Breakfast Club has donated an additional $4,000. ClickHERE to learn more about this project and to make your donation! A portion of the proceeds from this year's PeachFest will also be donated to this project.
