Aug. 1 is the state’s official birthday -- Aug. 1, 1876 is when Colorado became part of the United States -- but Colorado Parks and Wildlife typically throws their birthday bash on the first Monday of the month, which this year falls on Aug. 3. And Coloradans have plenty of parks to choose from: the state boasts 41! Our closest state park is Lory State Park just west of Fort Collins and Horsetooth Reservoir. Club Rotation Day on July 28 - was well attended both in-person and on-line! Great bike-riding and in-person fellowship at Howling Cow Cafe and online we were regaled with great storytelling from our own member Mike Forney about Fort Collins Founding Mother Auntie Elizabeth Stone and enjoyed participation in a drumming circle and beautiful, soothing flute music from Nancy Brauhn-Curnes and Linda Emmerman.
Thanks to Mark Goldrich for organizing the bike ride and lunch at Howling Cow.

Our evening meetings are held every other Tuesday. Right now we're using Zoom to meet. Our next meeting is August 4, 2020 at 5 pm. It's a good way for members to stay in touch and keep up-to-date on what's happening in the club.
We are continuing to work on creating safe social distanced opportunities for hands-on projects in the community. Stay tuned for more information.
We delivered a $4,000 check to Putnam Elementary from the Foothills Rotary Club to support their efforts to strengthen their learning community and keep students safe as they return to school this fall.
