Hello Foothills Rotarians,

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving holiday.   I'm not sure about you but I'm looking forward to having something besides Turkey tomorrow for lunch!  Today is the start of December and it will be a very busy month as far as Rotary is concerned!

Our speakers tomorrow will be Peter Teahen and Ed Galkin.   They have an amazing story to tell as they flew around the world to raising Awareness for Polio.   They have an amazing story to tell and I think the club will really enjoy their presentation

Several reminders of what we have coming up this month:

  • Please don’t forgot to bring your canned food donations for the food bank tomorrow.
  • Fines will once again be designated for our Holiday Baskets.
  • Please sign up for Basket Assembly on Friday December 12th and Basket Delivery on Saturday December 13th
  • Don't forget to sign up for the Holiday Party on December 13th
  • Our meeting on December 16th will be a fun Holiday Celebration.  Fines that day will go to the Marriott staff.

Our Board Meeting will be next Tuesday after our meeting.  As always, everyone is welcome to join!

Circle The Atlantic: Flight To End Polio
Circle The Atlantic: Flight To End Polio

Circle the Atlantic: Flight To End Polio, like its sister flight in 2023, titled, Around The World: Flight To End Polio, raised awareness and funds for the efforts of Rotary International (RI) and the Global Polio Eradication Initiative (GPEI).

Circle The Atlantic: Flight To End Polio was piloted by Rotarians Peter Teahen and Ed Galkin, with technical support provided by Rotarian John Ockenfels. The flight was flown in a 1976 Cessna 210 single-engine airplane.  The flight involved a 37-day, 9,000 nautical mile flight, with 15 landings in eleven countries, and multiple fundraisers.  Galkin and Teahen accomplished three international aviation records on the flight.
