Andrea Walrath

It is quite an interesting exercise to put together one’s biography. I could talk for hours about how blessed I have been but since I am fairly certain you are not quite that interested in my life, I will give you the shortened, chronological version.

I grew up in a small town (fewer than 400 people) in the northwest corner of Minnesota in what my husband refers to as the “Beaver Cleaver” family. I had two older brothers that I am certain adored their little sister and very loving parents. We lived across the street from the church and less than 2 blocks from the school and as a family were very involved in both.

I attended college at Concordia College, a small Christian college in Moorhead, MN, and graduated with a Bachelor’s degrees in Business Administration and Communication. My first job out of college was as a Management Trainee with Norwest Bank and it took me to Rapid City, SD. This is where I met and married my wonderful husband, Justin, who at the time was an officer in the Air Force and stationed at Ellsworth AFB.

The Air Force then took us to Grand Forks, ND. (Yes, I was really getting to see the world as an Air Force spouse). My husband was not overly thrilled about this location but I was ecstatic to be near home again, especially since, as it turned out, my husband seemed to be constantly testing the “distance makes the heart grow fonder theory.” Justin spent more than half of most of those 6 years flying all over the world. While in Grand Forks, I continued to work for Norwest/Wells Fargo Bank, earned my Master of Business Administration degree from the University of North Dakota and our first daughter was born.
