Gordan Thibedeau

I was born in Denver, Colorado and grew up in Arvada. I joined the Army in 1964 where I finally completed High School, earned a Bachelor’s and Masters Degree. I was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in 1968 and went on to serve 29 years active military service. After I retired in 1992, my wife, Stacy, wanted to become an Occupational Therapist so we moved to Fort Collins for her attend CSU. I planned to run, hike, ski, climb full time but quickly became bored. I volunteered to be a youth mentor with Partners of Larimer County. During the volunteer orientation process I became aware that Partners was seeking an Executive Director. I threw my hat in the ring and was fortunate enough to be selected for the Executive Director and went on to serve in that capacity of 4 & ½ years. While my wife was attending CSU, I decided to get a second Masters in Nonprofit Management from Regis University. In 1998 I joined United Way of Larimer County where I serve as President & CEO.

I hold a Masters Degree in Business and a Masters Degree in Non Profit Management. I currently serves on the 2-1-1 Colorado Governing Board, serves as a Safety and Leadership Director for the Fort Collins Group of the Colorado Mountain Club, serves as the co-director of the Basic mountaineering Course, serves on the Fort Collins Chamber of Commerce BOD, served as the Foothills Rotary Club President 2003-2004, and is involved with numerous other community efforts.

I am the proud grandfather to 5 grandchildren. I am an avid climber and mountaineer. Both Stacy and I enjoy skiing, running and being out doors in the Colorado backcountry.
