RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards)
MISSION: To encourage young students to become leaders, by sponsoring four students to a Rotary sponsored leadership camp. The Senior RYLA (High School Students) meets for one week during July at the YMCA camp in Estes Park. Junior RYLA (7th graders going into 8th grade) meets for one week at a camp in Larkspur. Young RYLA program is four years old, and our club has not yet sponsored any students for this. Positions for the Senior RYLA have been difficult to fill, so I want to reduce the number of sponsorships from four to two, and have our club sponsor two Junior RYLA for the first time. Reports from past RYLA attendees have been nothing but excellent.

MEETINGS: The only meetings presently required are just to coordinate interviews with students. This is done as a quad club, and interviews are during February-March.
TIME COMMITMENT: This will require about 10 hours during February-March, with a couple hours of follow up shortly after students return from camp. This is a fairly simple committee, and working in conjunction with the Quad clubs, there would not be a lot of work. One additional committee member would be OK, but mostly as a mentoring process.
