Tracy Oldemeyer

I was raised in Phoenix, Arizona. My older brother, older sister, and I had a lot of fun, spending hours on end in the swimming pool. I left Phoenix after high school at Xavier to attend Creighton University in Omaha, intending to return to Phoenix in a few years. Omaha was a great town, and the change of seasons was a new experience for me. The first winter that the high stayed below zero for over a week was the moment my roommate from Hawaii and I became convinced to leave. We did not understand why sunny, winter skies meant bitterly cold temperatures. However, Creighton was a phenomenal school. I was enrolled for six years and finished with degrees in business and law. In the middle of that time, I met Brad Oldemeyer and we married. We stayed in Omaha for another eight years while Brad finished his residency and fellowship at Creighton. I clerked for a federal judge for two years and thereafter returned to work for Cline Williams Law Firm in its Omaha office. Brad and I enjoyed almost every minute (not the scary winter ice storms or the oppressive summer humidity), buying and fixing up three homes in our free time. Our son Ben and our daughter Abby were born at Creighton. In 2003, we moved to Phoenix while Brad finished his last year of training. It was hot and crowded. Sun exposure was now a bad thing. My priorities had changed. Phoenix was no longer an oasis in the desert for my family. We struggled with a strong desire to return to Omaha and Creighton, but we ended up in Fort Collins in the summer of 2004. Cline Williams let me establish its Fort Collins office in early 2005, and I have been doing primarily commercial litigation in Nebraska and Colorado ever since. Our family plays hard these days, enjoying the great Colorado outdoors year round. We attend a lot of CSU Rams sporting events, but we still cheer for the Bluejay basketball and the Husker football teams. Ben and Abby love Fort Collins and grade school at St. Joseph. We expanded our family, adding two dogs and a hamster. The kids' grandparents stay with us and visit quite often. Our family tries to remember in the every day commotion that we are blessed, that we need to pause, and that we must say thank you by our words and deeds. Foothills Rotary helps me accomplish that end. Contact Tracy
