Bill Hofmann
I was born and raised in Littleton until I attended CU - Boulder where I earned my Bachelor of Environmental Design, with an emphasis in solar architecture. After college I enrolled into the Alternative Energy Training Center. While attending night classes there, learning the nuts and bolts of active solar systems, I installed the same on homes all over the front range. After the solar energy subsidies expired I moved to Los Angeles, where I began my career in construction management. During this time I met my wife, Brenda, on a blind date. In June we will celebrate our 20th anniversary. Both our sons, Ryan and Tyler, were born in Long Beach, before we moved back to Colorado. I continued to work as a project manager and an estimator for general contractors in the area, until 2002 when I changed careers and became a commercial appraiser. Last summer I was drawn back into what is now termed the “green building movement” which led to my pursuit of a LEED AP credential. I am now trying to expand my consulting business to offer services such as project administration on LEED projects as well as being a Salvage Appraiser on green deconstruction projects.
In my free time I enjoy skiing, biking, golf, gardening, and of course, cooking. Ryan is now a freshman at Front Range Community College and Tyler is a junior at Loveland High School. Brenda works for a prominent CPA firm in Fort Collins where she is a veteran of nearly a dozen tax seasons. My grandfather and stepfather were Rotarians and I am proud to follow in their footsteps. I look forward to the camaraderie and opportunities to serve the local and global communities in an organization that my mother fondly describes as the “Cadillac of service organizations”.
