Tuesday's Meeting: Marriott

Hi. Our esteemed President Bruce and wife Lori are vacationing in Italy with the German parents who hosted their son when he was our outbound exchange student.  Isn't it cool how Rotarian friendships occur through so many avenues? So, with Bruce out of the country, I get to practice the role of President this week and next.  I'm excited to announce that Tony Frank, CSU's President, is our featured speaker this week.  I have heard him speak at several events and find him to be such an eloquent speaker.  Next week, remember that our regular Tuesday meeting on Oct. 6 is cancelled as the Teacher of the Year banquet is taking place at the Hilton on Wednesday, Oct. 7.  Heather Buoniconti will be taking headcount at this week's meeting for the banquet.  If you plan on attending and ARE NOT going to be at this week's meeting, please let Heather know at hbuoniconti@foodbanklarimer.org .

Program:   Tony Frank, CSU President

Next Week's Program:  Tuesday 10/6 regular meeting cancelled.  In its place is Teacher of the Year Banquet at the Hilton on Prospect Road on Wednesday 10/7.  Seating begins at 11:30am and the program begins at 12:15pm.

For our Oct. 27 meeting, we are planning something fun.  The details are being worked out but our goal is to have our meeting offsite (location TBD) and to tour the Learning Tree Childhood Development Center facility and admire its landscaping that several of you helped with last weekend.  We will order box lunches.  Stay tuned for more details.

Did you know that 67M children worldwide have no access to education and more than 775M people over the age of 15 are illiterate.  Our goal is to strengthen the capacity of communities to support basic education and literacy, reduce gender disparity in education, and increase adult literacy.

See you Tuesday,

Jacque Niedringhaus
