Steve Broman

Raised third in a family of eight children, I grew up in Maquoketa, Iowa with my father, a family physician, as one of my role models. Active in athletics (football, wrestling, baseball, and track) and vocal music, I received a BA in Biology from Luther College in Decorah, Iowa, after lettering in wrestling and singing in the Nordic Choir.

After marrying my high school sweetheart (Donnis, who finally chased me down!) we moved to Lakewood where I earned a master’s degree in Biology from CU Denver before matriculating to Hahnemann Medical College (now Drexel University) in Philadelphia. Residency training in Family Medicine was completed at the University of Missouri, Columbia (1982-5) after which two years were spent in the National Health Service Corps at an indigent clinic in Rockford, IL. With 2 ½ more years of private practice and now 2½ children, the decision to move west was made, arriving in Fort Collins in January, 1990.

I joined Associates in Family Medicine and remain as staff physician with an emphasis in wellness and sports medicine, OB, and family planning. In addition, I am a team physician for USA Wrestling, CSU, and FCHS. My current interests include exercise, music, sports (see Reader’s Digest, Feb. ’07, pg. 180), health and wellness, and leadership development.
